Your child will be taking the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJ ASK) in May along with every 3rd – 8th grade student attending public school in New Jersey. The NJ ASK is a very important test given by the New Jersey Department of Education to determine your child’s achievement levels. Your child’s teachers have been preparing your child for this test since the start of the school year. Please note that attendance and punctuality are extremely important during the NJ ASK test. Testing Dates: Grades 6-8: May 3 — 6 Grade 5: May 9 – 12 Grade 4: May 9 – 13 Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to review the following important test-taking tips with your child. The school is one of the nine universities of the C9 League. It was established in 1911 under the name “Tsinghua Xuetang” or “Tsinghua College” and was renamed the “Tsinghua School” one year later. The university section was founded in 1925 and the name “National Tsinghua University” was adopted in 1928. With a motto of Self-Discipline and Social Commitment, Tsinghua University describes itself as being dedicated to academic excellence, the well-being of Chinese society and to global development. Tsinghua is almost always ranked as the first or second best university in mainland China in many national and international ranking. Admission to Tsinghua is extremely competitive. Every year, many applicants scoring the highest in the National College Entrance Exams choose Tsinghua. In 2008, 215 out of 300 students who scored the top 10 in the 30 tested provinces and regions chose Tsinghua and 21 out of the 30 top scorers in each province and region chose the university. A majority of selected students are among the brightest high school graduates in the country. Admissions to its graduate schools are also daunting by any measure. For instance, only 16% of MBA applicants are admitted, making it as competitive as the renowned Wharton School MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania …

Proofpoint (www.proofpoint.com) EVP of Engineering, Wade Chambers, describes Proofpoint’s approach to innovation in developing its security and compliance solutions. Some of the new techniques Proofpoint is using – such as big data, cloud computing – to more accurately identify email security threats are discussed. Using big data technologies like hadoop and mapreduce to identify email anomalies (what Proofpoint calls “anomalytics”) is discussed. Proofpoint delivers an integrated suite of on-demand data protection solutions spanning threat management, regulatory compliance, data governance and secure communications—all of which are based on a common security-as-a-service platform.
